The IKN Weekly, out now

IKN112 has just been sent to subscribers. As usual it's mostly written in 10 point Tahoma font and this edition has 13,679 words, which is about average I suppose.

The IKN Weekly, out now

 Nelson!

IKN111 has just been sent to subscribers. Because it has a bunch of photos it's larger Mb-wise than the usual edition and one or two mailboxes out there have bounced it back (there's one that Daemon says is over quota, too). If you haven't received yours yet that's probably why, so send me a mail.

The IKN Weekly, out now

IKN107 has just been sent to subscribers. For what it's worth, your humble scribe's main planned trade this week is to buy three stocks as a short-term trade (most unusual for a publication that normally focusses on 12 month rides), stay with them for one month long and then sell all three...only time will tell if those sales happen at a profit or a loss. Methinks ducks are coming into line in the shorter term. Quack quack.

The IKN Weekly, out now

IKN106 might have been sent out way late, but it sent out it was a tumbling of minutes ago. It has words and charts.

The IKN Weekly, out now

IKN105 has just been sent to clients, the usual bunch of blathering written by an utter dumbass spread out over multiple pages and interspersed with pretty charts and stuff.

The IKN Weekly, out now

ahh, they don't make 'em like they used to...thank the Lord.

IKN104 has just been sent to subscribers. It's not very good but I sent it anyway. Just the 15,205 words to wade through this week guys. I'll throw in more pictures next time.

The IKN Weekly, out now

For those who know their Spanish brandies
(and sadly you have to count me in)

IKN103 has just been sent to subscribers. If you didn't get it, please send me a mail and we'll sort out the glitch. This week we make a couple of changes to the port and also start looking at a couple of new names.

The IKN Weekly, out now

IKN101 has just been sent to subscribers. Meanwhile we have an answer to a question first asked in 1969:

Q: "¿En qué momento se jodió el Perú, Zavalita?"

A: April 10th 2011.

A Flash update...

The IKN Weekly, out now

The Don = The Greatest.
No man has ever dominated any sport the way this man dominated his.

IKN100 has just been sent to subscribers. A quick reminder that as of tomorrow (late tomorrow evening to be precise) the price of Weekly subscription goes up to $40/month or $400/year for any new subscribers. Anyone on before the rise will be grandfathered at the current price ($25/month or $250/year) indefinitely and the new price will not apply to them.

Anyway, the Weekly's out. It has words and numbers and I have a dog waiting for his walkies.

The IKN Weekly, out now

cold like a polar bear and laden with yummy memories

IKN99 has just been sent to subscribers. Meanwhile, in other news blog reader 'PS' writes this mail (redacted):
"Hi Otto, I have been reading your blog for a few months now and wanted to ask you about the discounted subscription. Does the $25 monthly subscription fee only apply when paying annually or can I subscribe now and pay $25 monthly as long as it is continuous? Hope that makes sense. As you can tell from this email, I really enjoy the blog. Thanks, PS"

The best answer I have to that is 1) to write it here so more readers than just PS get the message and 2) explain the following:
  • Next Monday April 4th, the price of The IKN Weekly is going up to $40 per month or $400 per year for all new subscribers.
  • That means that anyone subscribed before April 4th will pay the current rate of $25/month or $250/year
  • But to get to your point and answer your question PS, if you subscribe now at $25/month (or $250/year) you will not be asked to pay the new rate once it's in place. You will be grandfathered indefinitely at the old rate as long as you're on board before April 4th. By way of a clear example, if you subscribe on April 3rd, come May 3rd you'll be charged $25 for the next month's editions (and the same for all following months). But if you subscribe on April 5th, you'll pay $40 in May (and all following months). That also applies to the $250 yearly subscription price.

That answer your Q, PS? Thanks for writing by the way, as it might help others too.

The IKN Weekly, out now

IKN98 has just been sent to subscribers. Next week looks like being a good one for junior miners. I hope you're long out there, whatever your fave pick might be.

A Flash update...

...was sent to subscribers about ten minutes ago (i.e. just before 9am EST and a good half hour before the opening bell).

UPDATE: On a difficult day I'm going to shamelessly toot horn a bit. Some reactions to the Flash update from subscribers via reply mails (which are never solicited but always welcomed):

"What an excellent report!  Nice job."
(subscriber PB)

"GOOD"
(subscriber DS)
"Thanks. This is exactly what Iexpect from my investments’ Godfather....(in the Latino-Catholic sense, not the gringo sense)"  (subscriber JO)

"Very thoughtful. Thanks."
(subscriber ES)

"Great email.  Sometimes you need to be as much market psychologist as you need to be equity analyst."
(subscriber PB)
"Thanks for your opinion, appreciated as always."
 (subscriber JE)
"Thanks, agree and appreciated!"
 (subscriber HB)
 "Good alert."

(subscriber LB)
Away from those one line replies I've also had two or three longer mails that pick up on the  market craziness and panic noted in the Flash update sent this morning. One also said that I should reprint the Flash update on the blog here, which i may do later (but prefer that the people who kindly hand over 25 dollars of their hard-earned per month benefit first in line...it's only fair, after all), perhaps after the bell today to show you what goes on in the Weekly service. It's not just a Weekly letter, y'see. DYODD and take a word of advice from Douglas Adams:

Your humble scribe may be a market whuss, but on the other hand he's not hard-wired to panic, either.

The IKN Weekly, out now

We salute Hannover

IKN96 has just been sent to subscribers. We got news and views on a whole bunch of mainly LatAm mainly junior mining stocks and even a new buy reco, all squeezed down hard and packed into 13,000 or so words over 28 pages.

The IKN Weekly: Boring 'em to death since May 2009.
